Thank you for using MedCEC to help fulfill your continuing education requirements. MedCEC takes a serious interest in maintaining your privacy. In general MedCEC tries to collect only the information we require to enable you to utilize our services and some of that information is not stored. For example, our memberships plans do not auto-renew, and therefore we do not store your credit card information. In other cases we store information for longer periods such as account information, blogs, e-mails and chats. We understand that you would like to know how information is obtained, what type of information is collected, how is this information used and shared, and is the information secure. Please read our Privacy Policy, as use of our website, and services provided within our website, constitutes acceptance of our Privacy policy as well as our Terms of Service. Hereinafter the term "service(s)" shall include, but is not limited to, the use of the website, platform, software, data, courses, quizzes, exams & other materials contained within the website. These terms shall apply equally for any affiliates of MedCEC. From time to time we may update our Privacy Policy. Any change in our Privacy Policy shall become effective from the implementation date forward and this change shall not be retroactive. Continued use of the site following a change in our Privacy Policy constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy on a regular basis for any changes. How is Information Obtained ?
We receive information from a variety of sources including information that you enter on our website, when you create any type of account, including membership accounts, and blogs/forums, automatic information obtained when you interact with our website such as "cookies", information entered and received via our mobile site, e-mail communications and chat conversations.
What Type of Information is Collected ?
Information that you enter on our website may include your; name, address, phone number and email address along with credit card information. Information from our mobile site may include your movements by utilizing location-based services. Information that you enter during e-mail and chat communications and conversations is collected and stored as well.
Why Does Your Site Use Cookies?

How is the Information Collected Being Used ?
Generally MedCEC uses the information you supply for five primary purposes. To enhance your site experience, to allow you to sign-up to use and navigate our site, to facilitate communication between MedCEC and yourself, to transmit completion results to governing bodies so that you may receive credit for completing courses, and to allow you to participate in blogs/forums as you would like. Location information, either provided by you, or obtained automatically through location-based services, may be used for demographic purposes in our advertising. At any time you may decline to provide any information however doing so may result in you not being able to utilize the website. You may also disable cookies however this may also reduce your ability to utilize the website or reduce or eliminate certain functions of our site.
How is the Information Collected Being Shared ?
As stated above, MedCEC generally tries to collect only the information we require to enable you to utilize our services. For example, credit card information is encrypted and shared when you sign-up for a membership, however the information is not stored on our site as we do not auto-renew your membership. You will need to sign-up for a new membership and re-enter credit card information at that time. We are required to share identifying information such as your name, license number and course completion information with regulatory agencies in order to transmit your course completion status. You voluntarily share information when participating in blogs/forums and this information is generally considered to be entirely public. (See our Terms of Service). Information contained within e-mails and chats is generally utilized and shared internally, or with our third party companies, to facilitate maintenance of your account or customer service. See additional information regarding sharing information with third party companies in the following paragraph.
MedCEC is constantly striving to enhance your educational experience with our web based learning platform. As such, we may utilize web based applications from third party companies. Some of these companies require links ("hyperlinks") to be placed on our website as part of their application. These third party websites have their own privacy policies which MedCEC has no control over. If you choose to utilize the hyperlink to enter these websites, you do so under the terms of their specific privacy policies and terms of use. These links to third party websites does not imply that MedCEC endorses their website, product or services, nor does it imply that we have we received sponsorship of any kind from these companies. Is the Information Secure ?
MedCEC maintains a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate for its website to insure the security and protection of electronic transfer of data/information over a Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) encrypted connection. Please keep your account information confidential to guard against unauthorized access and remember to log out when finished. Additionally, while we make every effort to secure the longevity and security of your information by utilizing a secure, redundant, electronic document management and storage system, breaches in security do occur and storage devices, even redundant devices, do fail. For these reasons we cannot guarantee the security or longevity of your data however will take reasonable measures to protect your security and the longevity of your data.
Children's Privacy
You must be of legal age of majority in your state of residence to use our website. MedCEC does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under the age of 13 per the Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA). Any such information posted to our site will be removed.
E-Mail Reminders
MedCEC routinely sends e-mail reminders regarding continuing education requirements for license renewals, professional updates, and other professional information to members from time-to-time. If you no longer wish to receive these e-mail reminders and notifications, please send a e-mail to and request that we no longer send reminders and updates via email.
