Oregon State Board of Nursing Continuing Education

Total Hours Required: 0 - 7 | Elective Hours: 0 | Renewal Cycle: 2 Years

Oregon requires that all healthcare licensess completed a total of seven hours of CE in pain management. One (1) hour must be taken through the Oregon Pain Management Commission and the remaining six (6) hours may be your choice of pain managment topics and any provider that offers accredited courses. Other than the one-time pain management CE requirement prior to the first renewal the Oregon Board of Nursing currently has no CE requirement for RN's or LPN's. It is important to note however "that Oregon laws or rules outside the Nurse Practice Act may set requirements for all healthcare licensees to complete CE and certain healthcare professionals may have unique requirements for CE. It is expected that licensees are aware of their particular applicable CE requirements".

*The six (6) hour pain management course is currently not offered by MedCEC™
