Nebraska Board of Nursing CE Requirements
Under Nebraska Administrative Code, Title 172, Ch 101, Nebraska RN's and LPN's are required to complete a minimum of 20 contact hours of CE every 2-years.
Total Hours Required: RN / LPN 20 hours | Renewal Cycle: 2 Years
Nebraska RN's and LPN's must "have practiced nursing for at least 500 hours during the past five years AND have completed at least 20 contact hours of acceptable continuing education/in-service education within the past two years. Required Courses
Nebraska has no specific course requirements for RN's or LPN's however, of the 20 hours attested to, no more than four hours may be from CPR or BLS, and at least 10 hours must be peer reviewed. For additional information see Nebraska Nurse Licensing Renewal and Continuing Education.
License Expiration Dates
In Nebraska, RN licenses expire on October 31st of each even-numbered year and LPN licenses expire on October 31st of each odd-numbered year. Audits and Retaining CE Records
In Nebraska, licensees are required to attest to the completion of the required continuing education at the time of renewal. The Board may conduct random audits. If you are selected for an audit the Board will notify you and will provide you with comprehensive instructions regarding completing your audit.
