Arkansas Nursing CE Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Arkansas requires that active licensed RN's, LPN's and APRN's complete continuing education (CE) each renewal period utilizing one of three methods: through completion of 15 contact hours of practice-focused activities; becoming certified, or re-certified, by a nationally recognized certifying body or; by completing a college level nursing course of a minimum of one credit hour. For those licensees who seek reinstatement of a license which has been in a status of inactive/late for less than 5 years, 20 contact hours are required.
